Resumen
This paper reviews the most recent information on standards dealing with testing fire-resistance of hydraulic fluids in order to emphasis the importance of selecting hydraulic fluids including as basic criteria of reducing fire risk in particular and general industrial applications, gives information on an original stand for determining the flammability characteristics of fire fluids in contact with hot surface and presents preliminary results of the tests. These test results may be included in a risk assessment in order to enhance the security and health levels in industry.
