The influence of technological parameters on the structure of nickel layers
electrodeposited on a copper substrate in a Watts bath has been studied. The
complex influence of current densities, temperature and pH values on the formation
of the deposition layers are compared. The surface morphology of the nickel films
was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy
(AFM). X-ray diffraction (XRD) was used to investigate the crystallinity of the
prepared samples. The increase in the current density leads to fine crystallized
films, while layers obtained at even higher current density have dendritic
structures. The temperature increasing results in a structure change from fine to
coarse.

This paper focuses on the newer chemical synthesis of zinc oxide powders and
the effects of reaction temperature and possible mechanism of ZnO formation. The
study of the reaction mechanism at different temperatures has resulted in
establishing the optimum condition for the hydrothermal process.

Cosor (Rusu), Daniela Ecaterina; Munteanu, Viorel; Gheoghieș, Constantin
The aim of this paper is to develop an effective tool based on artificial
intelligence techniques for monitoring and characterization of surface waters.
Monitoring of the pollution in the aquatic environment consists in the recording of
the concentrations of different chemical compounds from water, compounds that
exceed the limits of maximum concentrations allowed by the regulations in force.
From the chemical point of view, the quality of aquatic environment is determined
by analytical control, followed by storing the results of laboratory analysis and
creation of a database in order to ensure the optimal conditions for life and
reproduction of aquatic organisms. The expert system will use the multitude of data
obtained, allowing finally the improvement of methods for interpretation of physical
and chemical parameters according to European legislation in force. This
improvement can be achieved by AI algorithms.

Samples of an aluminum alloy were subjected to an equal channel angular
pressing (ECAP) at room temperature for one pass. For the several specimens
severe plastic deformation process was interrupted to observe the material flow.
Also are studied the force variation in SPD process and hardness in different zones
of the deformed sample.
